There are several canon upgrades to choose from to be more convenient on your mission. Your canon isn't invincible, thus, if it was hit it'll take damage but you can always repair it, the same thing with your units. So, what are you waiting for? Take your last stand!

You will earn cash for every kill to buy upgrades and repair, the further you get the stronger the enemies will be, not to forget about the amount of people who'll attack.
